An aside about Pilgrim the cat, if you will indulge me. For some reason, I keep wanting to call him Weirdo the Cat which is the name of another cat belonging to Dan Leone who writes Cheap Eats for the SF Bay Guardian. Dan is not his name any more though due to some gender reassignment, the details of which I am not clear on. And I don't even know if there is still that column because we don't read the Guardian any more since SF Weekly/East Bay Express squeezed them out of all the paper boxes in Alameda.
Back to the cats. I don't know what Weirdo looks like so there is no reason for me to think Pilgrim resembles him in any way. I have no idea why the became associated in my mind. The first time I heard Lulu say the cat's name I thought she said Pogrom which would be an awful name for a cat. I like Pilgrim much better than Weirdo or Pogrom.
